This is the little space in our house I call my own. The space where the creative process does its thing, the space where no mortals (mainly husband and children) may disturb the artist at work unless the house is about to burn down or one of the dogs has eaten the cat.
I was born and grew up in Karlsruhe, Germany. In 1982, I moved to Canada with my family to finish High School and to pursue an education in the Visual Arts field. I received my Art & Design Diploma from Red Deer College in 1989 and Graphic Design Diploma from Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton, Alberta in 1992.
From 1992 until 2000 I worked at various Ad Agencies and Art Departments in Alberta and here, at the West Coast, before retiring as Art Director to concentrate on raising my two beautiful girls and to pursue my passion for painting full-time.
Thank you for visiting my site.

Media Release for the November Show
To you and I art is shapes and colours assembled to form imagery like abstracts or landscapes. For Silke the shapes and colours of art are gifts. Gifts of understanding from Mother Nature. When you view Silke's beautiful paintings you will see trees or buildings and other objects but if you listen to her work you will perceive the gift Nature has bequeathed all of us. Harmony in all things living. A sense of being where you belong. The tranquility of being who you are, on the road to who you can be and the value in continuing the journey.
